The patience of those people who do metal detecting on Southbourne Beach (photo top right) always amazes me and I often wonder what they are looking for; perhaps lost treasure, Viking ingots or maybe just pennies dropped by the many who enjoy our fine beaches in the summer and throughout the rest of the year.
Whatever their reasons, it gives me a chance to showcase the lovely sand that is on Southbourne beach close to Newpoint Hotel (B & B) bed and breakfast :-)
