Conferences in Bournemouth, the Tolpuddle Martyrs Museum and Newpoint Hotel bed and breakfast guest house B and B

Well the political conference season is soon upon us and I see that the Liberal Democrats and the UK Independence Party (UKIP) are booked into the Bournemouth International Centre (BIC).

Naturally, if delegates are looking for a comfy hotel bed and breakfast guest house (B & B) in which to stay, as always, they are very welcome, but thinking about political conferences reminded me of the Tolpuddle Martyrs Museum in Tolpuddle, Dorset.

Judging from the leaflet in Newpoint Hotel reception which is sub-titled 'From arrest, through hell, to freedom', it could be a harrowing experience and one that might set the political parties in the right frame of mind for deciding how to make the world a better place for us over the next year.

(In the Tolpuddle Martyrs Museum leaflet it shows a drawing of a thatched cottage which is my excuse for including my random snap of a thatched cottage taken I forget where in the West Country.)

Naturally, whatever, their political persuasion, political delegates are always welcome at Newpoint Hotel bed and breakfast. Our scrummy breakfasts will set them up for even the longest of political days and their good night's sleep in our comfy beds will do as much as possible to prevent them falling asleep even through the most boring of speeches.

(On the other hand, their visit to the Tolpuddle Martyrs Museum might have a different effect on their sleep habits.)

As I write this, I notice that the Tolpuddle Martyrs Museum is currently closed due to flooding so, if you are thinking of paying them a visit, it is advisable to check with Tolpuddle Martyrs Museum on their web site and perhaps by telephone to avoid any disappointment or wasted journey.

Bye for now

Chris
